Aligners Fitting Well.

To help us determine how well your trays are fitting and if the teeth are moving properly, we need you to take pictures.

All pictures should be taken from about 6 inches away with a smartphone by a second person.

Please try to send the best pictures you can, but do not worry if the pictures are not perfect. This process should take no longer than 5 minutes.

To help pull the cheeks out of the way like dental retractors, for some pictures we will have you use the largest spoons that fit comfortably in your cheeks. Put the part you would eat from towards the cheeks like the picture below.

Photography Procedures.

Step 1

With No Spoons and No Flash, take a picture of the teeth smiling with the teeth biting together.

Step 2

Using Spoons and Flash, take a picture of the teeth smiling with the teeth biting together (like #1).

Step 3

Using Spoons and Flash, take a picture of the teeth smiling and open 1 fingers width apart (like #2)

Step 4

Using one Spoon and Flash, take a picture from the side. Try to angle the camera as far back towards molars so that it is taking the picture as straight on at the molars as possible. A common mistake is to take the picture from too far forward towards the front teeth.

Step 5

Using one Spoon and Flash, take the same picture from the other side.

Step 6

That’s It! Send us the pictures and we will let you know if we need you to come in for an in-person appointment, or if you need to retake any of the pictures. Then we’ll tell you what the next step is in your treatment plan. Welcome to dentistry in the 21st century.
